Murugan Mala

Placed on the eastern side of Kurisumala Hill in Vagamon, Murugan Mala is a small hill, which is around 8 km from the hill town. The hill is adorned with the temple of Lord Murugan, erected using a single rock. An example of rock-cut temple architecture of India, this temple is flocked by devotees from all over the country, every year.

Thangal Para

Counted amongst top tourist attractions and religious sites of Vagamon, Thangal Para is a Muslim sacred site located on the Thangal Hill. It is placed at a distance of around 5 km from the main hill town. Thangal Para is a remarkable attraction that has a big spherical rock along with the tomb of Sheikh Fariuddin.

Kurisumala

A popular Christian pilgrimage, it is flocked by followers specially during the Good Friday week. Its followers come from various part of the country to climb up the hills with wooden crosses. Kurisumala is one of the most popular tourist spots in Vagamon.

Palozhukumpara Water Fall

In Monsoon season, there are numerous water falls, small and big, on the way to Vagamon from any direction.Palozhukum para (milk flowing rock) is one of the most famous water falls in this region. As the name says, the water looks like flowing milk with its white color.

Pine Forest

Around 200 acres of land with dense rows of pine trees. Even at noon, heat of the sun does not penetrate and keeps the land very cool. It is worth spending some time to relax in the middle of pine trees to appreciate the cool atmosphere.

Paragliding Point

Get a bird’s eye view of Kerala, at nearly 6,000 ft above sea level. The paragliding season starts from September and offers great flying conditions until January and again, from March to May. Float like a cloud and take on the blue skies and chat with the birds. Vagamon in the district of Idukki is fast emerging as the paragliding hotspot.

Mottakunnu

A collection of small meadows spread over a large area. There are interlocked small ponds at the valley of several meadows. This is one of the major movie shooting locations in Vagamon.Ideal time to visit the meadows is when the sun is not very intense.

Kurisumala Asram

Kurisumala Ashram is a Christian Monastery with serene atmosphere for prayer and meditation. The Ashram was established in 1958 and is one among the top pilgrim locations in Kerala. There is a dairy farm and a milk processing and packing unit associated to the Monastery. Visiting the Ashram requires appointment
